Children & Family Services

To help youth and families find strengths, break through obstacles, and build brighter futures

About Epworth

Epworth Children & Family Services is committed to keeping families together, preventing abuse and neglect, and encouraging self-sufficiency in at-risk youth served through more than one dozen programs. More than 5,300 youth and families turn to Epworth each year for emergency shelter, residential and intensive treatment, family reunification therapy, transitional and independent living programs, special education, foster family care, prevention services and a 24-hour help line. For nearly 150 years, Epworth's strength-based philosophy has built on the individual strengths of youth and families, helping them to be successful. Epworth opened a new youth drop-in center in 2014 to serve homeless youth in North County. To read an article about the center and its work click this link:  http://www.stlmag.com/news/a-place-of-their-own/ .

Epworth Auxiliary

Epworth Auxiliary was founded more than 50 years ago. This group of dedicated volunteers supports children and families served by Epworth by providing critical financial and volunteer support through a variety of annual activities.

This group of ladies also provides a vital link to United Methodist churches and other community congregations. Our Epworth Auxiliary Rep is Barbara Bast. She helps to keep St. Mark's informed about Epworth and about how we can be in ministry there.

They meet on the first Monday of each month at 10:00 am on the Webster Groves campus for a business meeting and informational program.

How can you help Epworth?

Christmas Cards

Each year the Epworth Auxiliary members sell Christmas cards to the community. Last year, members sold more than 650 boxes of cards and raised over $7,000 to support the youth at Epworth. Ask Barbara Bast about this year's cards!

The Epworth Auxiliary Spring Luncheon & Fashion Show

In April, this delightful luncheon brings together members, friends, Epworth staff, board and volunteers, to raise funds for the agency. A white elephant sale, lively entertainment, and a bake sale add to the enjoyment of the event. In the spring see Barbara Bast about a ticket to the luncheon.

Donating School Supplies

Each August and September St. Mark's collects needed school supplies for Epworth. You can donate school supplies to help make sure that EVERY child goes to school with the supplies they need to succeed. Watch each August for a list of needed school supplies.
