"What friends I have in quilters. We thrive on each other's company and the pride of our          God-given accomplishments.

I have pain, but I forget it when I'm there.

Everyone has their problems. We all listen to one another.

We are all ages. All have stories to tell of our past.

We quilt, we talk, we quilt, and we talk. Everyone enjoys the fellowship.

What Friends I have in quilters!"

The St. Mark's Quilters are volunteers who meet from 10am to 2pm every Thursday at church with the exception of holidays or inclement weather. During this time of Christian fellowship, they hand quilt those projects which have been completed by church members or friends. They do not make quilts; they quilt quilts that others have made. The donation cost of quilting a quilt depends on the size. The donations they receive for quilting the quilts are used for items around the church or to mission apportionments outside the walls of St. Mark's.

The Quilters have been meeting faithful since the 1970's and have completed many quilts over the years. If you are a quilter you are welcome to come join this group of ladies who are dedicated to the art of quilting. If you'd like to find out more about this group come up to the church any Thursday and visit with this wonderful group of ladies.

Summertime Stitchers is a group that meets from June-August to make charity quilts. They spend each Tuesday cutting, sewing, and tying quilts. They receive donations of fabric, thread, and batting to make these quilts. This group has been meeting each summer for over 10 years and has made hundreds of quilts to give to others. At the end of each summer these quilts are blessed with the hope that each person who receives a quilt will feel warmth and comfort each time they look at their lovingly made quilt.

They completed their 2014 summer of sewing by making 54 quilts! The charities that received these quilts were: Epworth, Crisis Nursery, Shalom House, Weinman Center, and Veterans Home/Fisher House.
