"But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."  Luke 18:16

Our nursery is available every Sunday morning for kids ages infant to Pre-K during both services and in between services.  We provide a fun, safe, loving, and caring atmosphere to start our littlest ones on their faith journey with certified Safe Sanctuary Nursery staff. The nursery is in the upstairs educational hall on the left hand side across from the rest rooms.

Children's Sunday Morning Opportunities

10-10:45 a.m. Inbetweeners (grades K-4)

The Inbetweeners group meets in Room 24 every Sunday.  It is designed for children to have fun and fellowship with kids their own age while parents attend Sunday School & Bible Study between services.  Children's Volunteers and Parents rotate each Sunday to lead children in thoughtful and playful church activities.

10:45-11:45 a.m. Children's Sunday School (grades K-4)

Children's Sunday School meets during 2nd service in Room 24 each Sunday, except Communion Sundays (first Sunday of each month).  Kids are taught Bible stories and the teachings of Jesus in a fun and age-appropriate environment.  They also do crafts, sing songs, and play!  Children's Sunday School is led by our Director of Children's Ministries, Abi Sager.

F.R.O.G. (Friends Relying on God)

FROG is St. Mark's mid-week evening program for children in grades Pre-K to 4th grade.  Parents, children, and FROG volunteers/leaders meet for shared fellowship and a multi-generational meal Tuesday evenings from 5:45-6:15 p.m. in the downstairs Fellowship Hall.  The FROG Program continues at 6:15 p.m. for an hour long Bible Study with curriculum designed for that age group.  Kids learn about Jesus and the Bible, do crafts, sing songs, play, and have fun!

But wait! FROG isn't just for kids from Pre-K to 4th grade! There are Tuesday night opportunities for the whole family! Younger children can play in the nursery while FROG parents spend time in a Small Group meeting (beginning at 6:15 p.m.) where they study books and DVD's on God-centered parenting, moms' ministry, discipline, and more. For older kids in grades 5-12, the St. Mark's Youth Group meets each Tuesday at 6:15 p.m. for one hour of Bible Study and fellowship.

St. Mark's Mini School

Mini School is a developmentally appropriate preschool for children ages two through five offering a well-balanced program of creative free time and structured learning activities.

Programs at Mini School are flexible, but follow a pattern which gives children a feeling of security and sequence.  In a warm, supportive environment, children are given many opportunities for learning through "doing" and through play.  Children are able to experience "successes", both mentally and physically, in order to inspire confidence and the enjoyment of learning.  The development of social skills is also stressed to promote self-identity and self-worth and to teach respect for the right others.

Each day, children enjoy a scheduled variety of lessons and free-choice activities, both indoors and outdoors, group experiences with music and stories, and problem-solving and decision making opportunities that ensure Kindergarten readiness.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is held each summer for one week. It is an opportunity for children to learn about God together. Each day there are songs, activities, stories and snacks. While VBS is free, it takes many adults to make it happen. The rewards of smiling, laughing, and singing are had by both children and adults.

Christmas Play

Children love telling the Christmas story. Our annual children's Christmas Play is held at both services (9 a.m. & 10:45 a.m.) the first Sunday in December. They spend weeks before preparing their lines, learning songs, getting together costumes, and making props.  You won't want to miss this special Advent drama for kids of all ages!

**All adults working with children and youth must be Safe Sanctuary Certified. This is a UMC training program. We do this to help make sure our children have a safe place to learn of God’s abiding love. **
